Dr. Ayeni is a Professor and Academic Division Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University, Canada, and a globally recognized leader in academic medicine, research, and surgical leadership.
He is:
  • Past-President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association
  • Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Joint Preservation Surgery (2022–2027)
  • University Scholar at McMaster University (2022–2026)
  • Member of the Royal Society of Canada (Class of 2025)
Dr. Ayeni also serves as:
  • Adjunct Professor, Department of Health Research Methodology, Evidence and Impact
  • Director of the MacSports Fellowship
  • Medical Director for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) and Forge FC (CPL)
He has published over 450 academic papers and multiple textbooks in sports medicine and research, and serves as:
